What to Wear to a Morning Suit Wedding
For men a traditional morning suit wedding dress code requires a formal morning suit as it would suggest. This should be a morning coat / morning tailcoat, trousers & waistcoat. Black/grey or navy morning coats / tailcoats are the most traditional colours to be worn for a wedding but do check your invite to see if there is a required colour. Trousers should either be traditional striped morning trousers, or plain and matching the tailcoat. Waistcoats should be either plain or patterned and can either be matching or not as long as they aren't too busy or loud. A plain white dress shirt with French cuffs, cufflinks and a tie or cravat.
What to Wear to a Strict Morning Dress Wedding
For men a morning dress wedding or formal day dress as it is sometimes called would require a black morning coat / tailcoat with striped morning trousers or alternatively a grey morning coat / tailcoat with matching trousers and plain or patterned waistcoat of choice (usually but do check if unsure). Again a plain white dress shirt with cufflinks and either a tie or cravat should be worn. Polished black lace-up Oxford shoes. Grey or black top hat may be required at very formal events.
